Who We Are

Storybook Lady Charitable Foundation promotes the art of "word painting" through the medium of children’s storybooks. We develop, evaluate, and encourage programs which foster children's social and intellectual development. While nurturing their capacity to process and comprehend, we strive to deepen commitment to social values such as kindness, helpfulness, personal responsibility, and respect for others - qualities we believe are essential to leading productive lives in society.

All books and materials distributed by Storybook Lady Charitable Foundation are provided at no cost to the child or program. With the support of Storybook Lady, program recipients are able to develop a lesson plan around the books that are read, share these books with participating children, and enable these children to share the magic of their new books with siblings and other family members at home.

The specific purpose for this organization, is to develop an institution to promote the reading of children’s literature in a group setting by teaching the necessary skills and providing charitable assistance for reading materials; develop and advocate for the need of standardized reading curriculum and course structures in educational programs; and to provide for the exchange and publication of information among educators, clinical specialists, literary professionals, and the general public regarding the benefits of storybook reading.
